1.How did you find out about NuvoAir and why did you decide to use our technology?

Last year I was away on holidays in Spain and I was doing loads of physical activities such as swimming, walking etc. I said to my Mum, I’d love to be able to check my lung function to see if the swimming and the warm air is making any difference to my lung function. So, whilst I was by the pool, I decided to look up Spirometers for Cystic Fibrosis patients, and I came across ‘’NuvoAir’’. So, I posted on Facebook and asked about the product and if people had used it before and what did they think, and everyone said how wonderful and amazing it was, so I decided to buy it.

2.How has NuvoAir made a positive impact on your life?

The NuvoAir has impacted my life in a great way, before having the device I was never sure at how my lung function would be at home and if it was what I class as ‘’average’’ for me. Thankfully from having the device I have been able to identify what my FEV1 on average is at home and it has also led me to being more alert when I am sick, because if I am sick I am able to check if my lung function is down. I feel the device has really helped me identify infections earlier.

3.Why would you recommend NuvoAir to others?

I would recommend NuvoAir to other people because I feel for people living with respiratory issues, such as Cystic Fibrosis it’s important to be able to monitor your FEV1 at home because you are to see how your lung function is and if you may need to start IV antibiotics or orals. I also feel it’s good see your base line at home too.

4.What are you personally doing to raise awareness of CF?

I am a Patient Ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland so through my role of being Ambassador and also being an Advocate for Cystic Fibrosis I have had the opportunity to write articles for Ireland tops newspapers and online sites, speaking on National radio on Ireland top radio stations. I have also aired on both National & International TV in raising awareness and I have also held charity events in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.

5.What would you like others to know about your efforts and how technology has made a difference today?

I feel technology such as the NuvoAir is making life for CF patients easier and also making us live a more independent life, from being able to monitor ourselves at home compared to needing to travel to the hospital as much. Obviously, it’s still vital to have routine hospital lung function checks, but in between those hospital visits, this device and the technology is truly amazing to help us patients!
